We LOVE for our Goshen Students to walk in the parade with us! It is so FUN!
All participants will be at Woodland Elementary School 10/31 by 6:00pm at the latest to get lined up. Our float number is #71 located in front of the school by the sidewalk. The theme is "Mother Road" or Route 66. We will provide USA headbands for free, but we do encourage you to wear a headband ... Please drop off your child at this location, or you can walk with them with the intention of being picked up at the end of the parade by someone else near the Wildey Theatre. The Parade will begin at 6:30pm and usually we are done before 7:30pm. Students 7 & younger must have a parent accompanied with their child.
All Students will wear your Do Boks (Uniforms) to the parade. Wear warm clothes under your Do Bok, and hats, gloves,… as needed for the weather. Parents walking with students 7 & younger are encouraged to wear Goshen Hoodies, or Jackets.
We ask (unless you are walking with us) that you pull your child out of the parade as we walk by you - we recommend standing near the end of the parade route, for example by the Wildey. Please tell an instructor or adult walking in our group when and where you are taking your child out, so that we can account for all children and do not lose anyone!
All students who sign up to participate in the parade will be walking. Participants will NOT be allowed to throw candy. For safety, a few adults will be walking behind the children to ensure no one gets behind our group.
Senior students walking will be assigned to HAND OUT candy to spectators
If something happens and you cannot get your child during the parade, we will meet at the studio immediately when we finish the route. We are usually near the front of the parade, and done before 7:30 pm. If you aren’t able to get your child as we walk, please start towards the studio after we pass you to pick up your child.
Parade Route: Woodland Elementary School Parking lot > east on St. Louis St. to Vandalia > North Main Street > Ends at High Street.
In case of Inclement Weather: the Ed/Glen Chamber will make determination between 5:00 pm- 5:30 pm and post on website @ www.edglenchamber.com. If no announcement has been made by 5:30, the parade will begin at 6:30 pm.
